Charlie Lynn Spradling was born and raised in Forth Worth, Texas. Spradling began her show business career acting in plays in and around her home town for nine years after joining a local children's theater group. Charlie eventually left Texas and moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles, California in the mid-1980's. In the wake of getting her SAG card in 1987, Spradling embarked on an acting career in both films and TV shows alike that lasted for about fifteen years.
