Hatem Ali (حاتم علي) was a Syrian actor and director. He studied philosophy and then acting at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, from which he graduated in 1986. He worked as an actor in many series, then turned to directing in the mid-nineties. Before that, he wrote the script for the film بهمو آخر الليل and then directed it. The film won the gold at the Cairo Radio and Television Festival.
